Our Team
Michelle Yang, Founder and Principal Lighting Consultant of MYLD Studio LLC, brings a rich blend of creativity and technical expertise to the field of architectural lighting design. With a decade of experience, Michelle specializes in crafting innovative lighting solutions that enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of diverse spaces.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in a Architectural Technology from The New York City College of Technology, where she focused on Urban Planning, Lighting, Detailing, Structural, and Sustainable Design. The educational foundation has provided her with a deep understanding of how lighting can transform environments - from intimate residential interiors to large-scale like corporate headquarters, airports and mixed-use residential and commercial developments.
Before founding MYLD Studio LLC, Michelle developed her skills at prominent New York City lighting design firms, including Schwinghammer Lighting, BOLD Studio, and SBLD Studio. Her portfolio reflects a broad range of projects, each demonstrating her commitment to aligning architectural vision with client needs, sustainability goals, and budget considerations.
As an MWBE-certified business leader, Michelle is dedicated to promoting diversity within the architecture and design communities and actively mentors emerging professionals. Her collaborative approach ensures that every project benefits from a synergy between design disciplines, resulting in spaces that are visually compelling, environmentally responsible, and economically viable.
